Job Position:  Business Services Manager

Reports to: Program Director

Location:  Pittsburgh, PA

Salary Range$55,000 to $60,000 a year

 

Qualifications:

 

The Business Services Lead is responsible for the driving the day-to-day operations of the Business Services Team. This includes meeting/exceeding performance objectives under the contract, performance management of the program staff, ensuring compliance with client, state and federal policies and procedures and the coordination of services to the business community.

Primary Job Functions: The Business Services Lead is responsible for meeting/exceeding Performance Measures as outlined in the contract.  This could include, but not limited to:  Employer Receiving Workforce Assistance, Career and Job Fairs, direct referrals to targeted occupations/industries, business intelligence reports and creating a pipeline of employers for our work-based learning programs and more depending on the Scope of Work.

The Business Service Lead is responsible for performance of all business services staff, Generates reports monthly/weekly as required, Monitor program operations for compliance on a regular basis, Network and develop relationships with community leaders and service organizations which will be beneficial to Dynamic Workforce Solutions (DWFS) in the delivery of services to the targeted population.  

This position is responsible for meeting all Dynamic Workforce Solutions (DWFS) required training, performance plan documents and following all DWFS policies and procedures.

Mentoring and coaching is done by the Business Service Lead to ensure the team is consistently coached and trained to meet all client and DWFS policies and procedures.  

They are responsible for monitoring and driving success of the business service related metrics required by the state and client contract.  The Lead's role is specifically related to working with the business community to ensure they are aware of and utilizing the services available to them through the public workforce system.

Complexity of Work:  Highly complex work procedures that are not typically well established.  Requires highly advanced professional technical expertise, demonstrated functional knowledge and best practice experience and accomplishments.  This position manages staff.

Core Competencies:

Required Communication Skills:  Advanced professional level business writing, grammar and oral communications skills.  Experienced presenter.

Leadership/ Influence:  The Business Service Lead will direct the day-to-day activities of the business service staff in executing the contract with the client. The successful candidate will train, mentor and coach staff, will identify opportunities to improve processes/procedures to enhance performance, and will implement any changes to the contract for business services as directed by the client.

Strategic Thinking/ Latitude:  The Business Service Lead will bring best practices and resources from ManpowerGroup to the public workforce system, understanding the regulatory environment, to exceed performance expectations in delivering services to the business community.

Span of Control and Scope:  The Business Service Lead implements the project plan which consists of Job Developers, Placement Specialists and the Street Team members to ensure that the performance objectives regarding the measures for business services staff are met under the contract with DWFS' client.

Business Impact:  The Business Service Lead will inform the Project Director on the needs and expenditures for the Business Services Team. This position is not directly responsible for the budget.

Travel:  Travel is required among the service deliver area of the client to assist program staff, meet with employers and monitor program activities.

Physical Requirements:  The position is primarily a sitting job, frequent standing and walking is required to meet and assist program needs. Good manual dexterity required for entering information into computer system.

            Staff Responsibility:  up to 5 employees

            Supervision/ Guidance Received:  Minimal
